Announcement - Martyn Daniels leaving
Strategic Directorship at VISTA
To be released : 11th February,2002
Martyn Daniels has announced that he is
forming Opus 57, a business consulting
practice that will offer a fresh, change
management and result-oriented approach to
delivering return on technology and systems
investment.
“All too often the costs and implications of
technology are viewed separately from the
organizational relationship and process
changes that also need to be managed. Today’s
technology investments in areas such as CRM
(Customer Relationship Management) and
bibliographic databases need business
justification. The benefits derived from these
types of solutions, such as more efficient
sharing of information across supply chains,
have become more difficult to quantify and
require an independent perspective to properly
assess their value,” says Daniels.
Harvey Parr, former Chairman of VISTA and MD
ACT Business Systems states, “Having worked in
two separate organizations with Martyn, his
broad business experience and understanding of
technology enables him to think strategically,
focus on the issues and most importantly,
deliver innovative and robust solutions. I am
positive that there is a gap in today’s market
for Opus 57.”
Martyn Daniels is leaving VISTA after 6
successful years as Strategic Development
Director where he has played a key role in the
direction and development of VISTA’s services,
solutions and research programs. During this
time he has helped to establish VISTA’s
editorial and productions solutions, and was
one of the primary drivers of the acclaimed
PubEasy and Batch.co.uk ecommerce services. In
addition, Martyn helped to define VISTA’s
author2reader framework and CRM strategy, and
contributed significantly to the highly
successfully publishing industry research
series ‘Publishing in the 21st Century’.
Martyn will continue to work with VISTA in an
advisory and consulting role. John Wicker,
Executive VP Business Development, commented,
“The International Board of VISTA values
Martyn’s contributions and are looking forward
to continuing our work with him. We are very
pleased that he has agreed to continue to
provide input into VISTA’s strategic planning
and research in support of our business
strategy.” |
